The multifaceted artist gives us a complete pass to place ourselves in the center of her stage and live a unique, immersive and futuristic experience thanks to VR technology, which will stimulate all your senses, and everything from the comfort of your home.

With just a Youtube link and headphones, we are transported to the center of a dark stage so that afterwards, effervescent sounds rise through our ears, suddenly people surround us and Marie Koldkjær Højlund herself, or KH Marie, the name she decided to use for this project, descend right in front of us. This is how the immersive presentation of “Nothing is Enough” begins, the artist’s project that started with an album released in September 2020, which has the collaboration of the Danish poet Morten Søndergaard in the lyrics, which are inspired by the “Song of the songs ”, part of the old Testament.
“I find some kind of pop song, like it was the first pop song of the history, because it’s basically just about falling in love and is very sensual”, says Marie. From this his intention was to recreate the atmosphere that is lived when being in love. Therefore, she asked Morten to make new poems based on the Song of songs, to create new pop songs from that.
“What I was interested in is to make a universe to the senses, what it’s what is going on in this poems.” For this he used several resources. When he released the album, he released a series of scented vinyls, for which he worked with an artist from Berlin, and then came the concert, in which he placed the audience in the center of the theater and performed the performance around it.
“An then corona came”, says Marie laughing, that was when it occurred to her to adapt the concert to a virtual platform, as a way to “share this with more people” without losing the concept of “immersion”: “I didn’t want to make a documentation video of the concert, I want to try to see how could you actually rescue some of the aspects from the concert through this VR video”.
As for the future, the restrictions resulting from the pandemic have Marie in an uncertain position, but she plans to continue showing her concert in person as soon as possible. For now, he is preparing visits to elderly homes in which he will show “Nothing is Enough” with VR equipment.
