According to Økologisk landsforenings market report the target group of ecology are crisis-resistant, which we saw doing the financial crisis in 2008 and now again doing the covid-19 pandemic, which is a factor that makes the boom possible.
Next level is here
Doing covid-19, Anne Thuesen Holst and Anna Sauermilch opened RAA Aarhus in a city central location, in the second largest city in Denmark. Here all products are ecological certified, except for the coffee. Anna and Anne are taking the next step, with not only focusing on ecology but also the origin of the groceries and the unique packaging free concept. An awareness that is booming these years and supporting the rising climate focus.
“Packaging free goods makes a difference, but it can’t stand alone as an argument why you should shop like this, it takes more if you should be really sustainable, that’s why we care about ecology and where the products come from.”
Anne Thuesen Holst.
According to the market report the main argument for choosing ecology is to avoid pesticides, protect the nature, groundwater and animals. 40% chooses ecology because it is more climate friendly, even though this is still debated. According to Anne, zero-waste shopping is not only a retail experience, but also an educational space where zero waste shop founders share their knowledge about sustainable living.
