Despite the coronavirus pandemic, hundreds of international students came to Aarhus this August. According to Marie Dall, Chairperson of the Students’ Council at Aarhus University, foreigners are more affected by high housing prices. Since 2011 average rent for youth accommodation has risen by 39%, numbers from Boligportalen.

Due to high prices, some students cannot find a place for a long time. “It creates uncertainty to move and not knowing where to live. It can even prevent international students from moving in the first place,” Marie Dall says.

In 2019 there was 2790 international students at Aarhus University and 996 exchange students coming to Aarhus.
